- How long did the building process take and did it run on time?
- If not how long did it run over?
- Was there a reason why this happened?
- Did the builder stay within your budget?
- If not, how much over budget did you go?
- How was the builders communication?
- Quick on email
- Does he answer calls? Or return calls promptly?
- How are you notified of progress
- Were there site meetings?
- Were there many down days where nothing happened or did it feel like it moved quickly?
- Were there any surprises during the building process?
- If so, what were they and how were they handled?
- Were there any variations?
- Were they reasonable?
- What were the causes?
- How did the builder handle problems that came up?
- This is an important question, as things don’t always go according to plan during a construction project.
- Was the builder accessible during the building process?
- If not, how difficult was it to get in touch with them?
- Was the builder happy to come back the project finished to repair any defects?
- Were there many defects?
- Any significant defects?
- Were you happy with the quality of the finished product?
- How has the quality stood up over time.
- How were the trades the builder used?
- Were they respectful?
- Did they have good workmanship?
- Any stand out trades?
- Did the builder leave a clean building site?

- how were they handled?
- Would you recommend this builder to others?
- This is a good way to get a sense of the referral’s overall satisfaction with the builder.

- What advice would you give to someone who is considering working with this builder?
